Overview
Rise is an alarm app that helps users set alarms, play alarm sounds, browse motivational quotes, and optionally dismiss alarms by reading a quote aloud.
Rise is designed to work without account registration. Most core app data is stored locally on your device.
Information We Handle
- Alarm data such as alarm times, repeat rules, quote selections, alarm sounds, and voice-dismiss settings
- App preferences such as language, theme, vibration, and related alarm behavior settings
- Favorite quote IDs and local alarm history summaries stored on your device
- Cached premium subscription status stored on your device
- Microphone input used while the voice-dismiss feature is active
- Store-provided purchase and verification data needed to confirm premium entitlement
- Diagnostic and crash information processed through Firebase Crashlytics
How We Use Information
- Scheduling, playing, and managing alarms
- Enabling voice-based alarm dismissal
- Saving alarms, favorites, history, and app preferences on your device
- Restoring or validating premium purchase status
- Monitoring crashes, diagnosing failures, and improving app reliability
Local Device Storage
Rise stores most app data locally on your device. This may include alarm configurations, favorite quotes, alarm history summaries, app settings, and cached subscription status.
Rise does not currently provide cloud sync for this local data.
Microphone and Speech Recognition
If you use voice-dismiss alarms, Rise requests microphone access so it can listen for your spoken quote and compare recognized words against the expected quote text.
Rise does not intentionally store raw voice recordings on its own servers. Speech recognition may be handled by your device, operating system, or platform provider under their own policies.
Permissions
- Microphone: to support voice-dismiss alarms
- Notifications: to display alarm-related notifications
- Exact alarm access on Android: to schedule alarms as reliably as the platform allows
Purchases and Subscriptions
If premium purchases are enabled, subscriptions are processed by the relevant app store, such as Google Play.
Rise may process product identifiers, platform details, and store-provided purchase verification data needed to validate premium entitlement. Payment card details are handled by the app store, not directly by Rise.
If remote purchase verification is enabled for release builds, purchase verification data may be sent securely to a backend verification service over HTTPS.
Crash Reporting and Diagnostics
Rise includes Firebase Crashlytics for crash and stability monitoring. Crash reports may include app version, device and operating system details, crash traces, and limited diagnostic context related to app failures.
Data Sharing
Rise does not sell personal information.
Data is only shared with third parties as needed to operate app features, such as app store billing systems, speech recognition services, Firebase Crashlytics, and secure backend purchase verification services when enabled.
Your Choices
- Decline microphone permission, though voice-dismiss alarms may not work
- Change or delete alarms, favorites, and app settings inside the app
- Delete the app to remove locally stored app data from your device
- Manage subscriptions through your device's app store account settings
